Job description

There's something quietly satisfying about being the first person on a campsite in the morning. The paths are empty, the air is cool, and everything you do between now and when the guests wake up will shape how they feel about this place. That's not a small thing. At Birkelt campsite in Luxembourg, the cleaning agent role is one of the most important on the whole site, and it comes with real ownership over your work.

Birkelt is a well-established campsite in the Mullerthal region, a part of Luxembourg that earns its nickname 'Little Switzerland' honestly: think forested sandstone valleys, hiking trails through rock formations, and a pace of life that feels a world away from a city summer. You'll be working in a place that guests actually want to be, which makes a difference when you're spending five months there yourself.
The contract runs from mid-April to mid-September 2026, covering the full arc of the season from opening prep through to end-of-season close-down. English is the working language on site, and you'll need at least a year of relevant experience to hit the ground running from day one.

What you bring

  • At least one year of experience in a similar cleaning or housekeeping role, ideally in hospitality or tourism
  • A good level of English, which is the working language on site
  • A reliable, self-directed work ethic: you take pride in the result without needing someone to check up on you
  • Physical stamina for a hands-on, active job that involves moving around the site throughout your shift
  • Good attention to detail, because a missed inventory item or a half-cleaned bathroom is the thing guests will remember
  • Flexibility to help with seasonal set-up and close-down tasks outside of the regular daily cleaning routine
  • Availability for the full contract period from 15 April to 15 September 2026

What you do

  • Clean and maintain all campsite facilities, including guest accommodation and sanitary blocks, to a consistently high standard
  • Carry out ad hoc cleaning tasks across the site as they come up during the day
  • Check accommodation inventories after each guest stay and replace any missing or damaged items
  • Handle linen logistics: sorting clean and dirty linen and preparing it for collection by an external contractor
  • Help set up the campsite and accommodation at the start of the season
  • Assist with end-of-season cleaning, storage, and close-down tasks in September

What you get

  • A full-time seasonal contract from mid-April to mid-September 2026
  • A structured daily routine with clear tasks and a real sense of accomplishment at the end of each shift
  • The chance to spend a summer in the Mullerthal region, one of Luxembourg's most scenic and walkable areas
  • Easy access to neighbouring countries: Germany, Belgium, and France are all within an hour or two
  • A working environment where English is the day-to-day language, so you can get on with the job from day one
  • The kind of behind-the-scenes role that teaches you how a campsite actually runs, which is genuinely useful for future seasonal work
