Job description

The Activities Assistant is one of the most varied jobs in resort – perfect for energetic, adaptable people who love getting involved and never want two days to look quite the same.

You’ll use your existing activity qualification while working across different areas of the Beach Club, supporting everything from Watersports, Tennis, Biking and Fitness to Children’s Club, guest activities and social events. You’ll also be a familiar face around resort, helping with guest arrivals, departures and the little things that make a brilliant Neilson holiday.

You’ll need at least one recognised qualification relevant to our activity programme – for example, Watersports Instructor, Tennis Coach, Bike Guide, Fitness Instructor, Waterski/Wakeboard Instructor, Lifeguard or RYA Powerboat Level 2.

What you bring

  • A valid First Aid certificate is mandatory for the Activities Assistant role.
  • Hold, or are working towards, at least one recognised qualification relevant to our activity programme.
  • Have a great personality and genuinely enjoy working with people.
  • Are energetic, positive and happy getting involved.
  • Have a strong work ethic and take pride in doing a good job.
  • Enjoy being part of a team and supporting the people around you.
  • Are adaptable and comfortable moving between different activities and responsibilities.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Are organised, proactive and able to adapt quickly in a busy environment.
  • Are confident leading groups and speaking to guests.
  • Are considerate, polite and approachable.
  • Are resilient and respond positively when things don’t quite go to plan.
  • Are willing to listen, learn and develop throughout the season.
  • Have a good standard of spoken English

What you do

  • Support activity departments across resort, including Watersports, Tennis, Biking, Fitness, Children’s Club and other guest activities.
  • Deliver fun, safe and engaging sessions appropriate to your qualifications and experience.
  • Assist with airport transfers, arrivals and departures, giving guests a warm Neilson welcome.
  • Help organise and host daytime activities, evening entertainment, BBQs, themed events and social occasions.
  • Confidently communicate with guests, including using a microphone for activity briefings and resort events.
  • Help promote the activity programme and encourage guest participation.
  • Maintain activity equipment and facilities to Neilson’s high standards.
  • Work closely with other departments to support day-to-day resort operations.
  • Build positive relationships with guests and help create memorable holiday experiences.
  • Follow Neilson operating procedures, safeguarding responsibilities and health and safety standards.
  • Support new team members and contribute positively to a close-knit resort team.
  • Be adaptable and willing to support other parts of the operation when required.
