Job description

Please imagine an average Tuesday. You drive into a resort in Austria, attend a morning meeting with the entertainment team, immediately see two things you would do differently, and have addressed them by the end of the afternoon. Next week you might be in Spain, at a completely different park with a completely different team. The week after that, you'll be back in the office working on a new activity concept you've been developing for the past month. This is what the position looks like in practice.

As Operations Manager Fun & Entertainment, you are the one who monitors quality across multiple European parks. You'll coach, you'll support, you'll tackle yourself when necessary and you'll replace the Head of Fun & Entertainment in his absence. The latter is important: this is not a coordinator role with a fancy name. You carry real responsibility here. 🌍

The parks in your portfolio are in multiple countries, which means that travel is not an added benefit but simply part of how the position works. As such, you will have a car at your disposal for this position. Does an office that is sometimes in Austria and sometimes in Spain sound like the opposite of a problem? Then you are probably the right person.

What you bring

  • Minimum three years of experience in the leisure industry, you know from the inside how entertainment programs really work
  • Strong communication skills on different levels, you feel as comfortable talking to a General Manager as in coaching a junior entertainer on the floor
  • Driving license B and no problem with regular travel, this week Austria and next week Spain is really your idea of a good working week
  • Fluent English in word and writing. Dutch, German, French or Spanish on top of that is a serious advantage
  • The ability to switch smoothly between office work and operational work on location, without losing momentum in either case
  • A creative side combined with the discipline to actually bring ideas to fruition
  • Self-reliance and the initiative to seek out new developments and opportunities on your own without being directed to do so

What you do

  • Fun & Coaching and mentoring entertainment colleagues at multiple parks, helping them get better at their jobs instead of just receiving instructions
  • Monitoring and improving the quality of entertainment concepts at the resorts in your portfolio, looking closely at what works and what needs to be tweaked
  • Operating at several European locations, rolling up your sleeves yourself instead of just directing from a distance
  • Thinking about and writing programs and activities for different target groups and age groups
  • Liaising with General Managers and Team Leaders at the parks in your portfolio
  • Replacing the Head of Fun & Entertainment and take over full responsibility for the department in his absence

What you get

  • A gross monthly salary starting at €3,200
  • A company car, so the travel that comes with the position is well taken care of
  • The opportunity to participate in collective health insurance
  • A position with real variety: creative, commercial and operational, never just one of the three
